Editorial Policy

Last updated: June 2026

1. Purpose and Scope

Scholway content — country guides, university pages, application guides, and blog articles — is designed to support informed study-abroad decisions. Content is informational only; before making an application, verify critical details such as fees, deadlines, and visa requirements on the institution's official pages. These principles apply to all editorial content on the site.

2. Source Standard

  • Primary sources first: official university websites, national study portals (Study in NL, Campus France, DAAD/Hochschulkompass, etc.), ministries, and immigration offices.
  • University facts (type, founding year, public/private status) are compiled from open, auditable datasets; ranking data comes only from the official QS World University Rankings of the labeled year.
  • Unverifiable data is not published: if a university's website, ranking, or program link cannot be matched with confidence, the field is left empty rather than guessed.
  • Secondary sources (forums, blogs) provide context only and are never the sole basis for visa, tuition, language, or work-rights information.

3. Accuracy and Quality Control

  • Program records pass a quality-control process before publication; only records with verified official links are listed.
  • Records that cannot be matched to an official source, or whose freshness is in doubt, are unpublished or queued for review.
  • Numerical claims (university counts, cost ranges) are recalculated periodically.

4. Update Policy

  • Country guides are reviewed regularly; significant visa or tuition regulation changes are processed with priority.
  • QS rankings are refreshed in bulk when a new edition is released, and pages clearly state which year's data is shown.
  • Every legal/policy page carries a "last updated" date.
  • Verified mistakes are corrected promptly; corrections that change meaning are reflected visibly.

5. Editorial Independence from Advertising

  • Advertising revenue does not determine content ranking, university/country selection, or editorial conclusions.
  • No university or institution can pay for better placement; orderings rely on objective criteria (e.g. university counts, alphabetical/city grouping).
  • Ad placements are visually separated from content and never disguised as editorial.
  • Sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly labeled. (There is currently none on the site.)

6. Impartiality and User Benefit

Content does not steer readers toward any particular country, university, or agency. Disadvantages (cost risks, language barriers, visa timelines) are presented alongside advantages. Promotion of our own services, such as Scholway Tanıdık and consulting, is kept distinguishable from editorial content.

7. Corrections and Feedback

To report inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated content, write to [email protected] or use our contact form. Reports are reviewed and verified findings are incorporated. If you represent a university and request a correction to your institution's data, citing an official source speeds up the process.
